royal-sehun:
The young royal rested in a chair besides the bed, looking from time to time outside the window, but most of the time keeping his eyes pinned to the one relaxing in his bed and observing his delicate features as he tried to sink further in the covers and sheets. It was quite funny, but he somehow understood how comfortable it must have been for a servant to relax in a royal room for a day. He realized the other was about to awake and tilted his head as he saw the sudden sitting up and tossing the cover aside.
He caught a glimpse of the other’s hurt expression and realized that he wasn’t in a really good shape to go back to work or in any shape at all so he stood up and walked towards the bed, picking up the cloth which laid on the other’s forehead until then, placing it in the bowl of water. “The macaroons are just fine, don’t worry about it.” he smiled softly and sat on the edge of the bed, looking at the other. “No need to call me sir and don’t apologize for that. I brought you here after you fainted. You seemed to be exhausted quite early in the morning. You need to rest once in a while, you know.” he added as he resting his chin in his palm, his arm sustaining itself in the elbow on his knee.
“Don’t worry about anything today, just consider it a day off or a little reward for working so hard all the time. I guess you are hungry so I will tell one of the servants to bring us some food up here. Do you want anything in particular?” he smiled and got up again, walking towards the door slowly as he waited for an answer from the other. “And I don’t take ‘no’ for an answer to all I’ve said until now.” he kept on smiling looking at the other. Ever since he found out the truth about his past he softened little by little towards everyone apparently.
After listening to what the young royal had said, reassuring him a couple of times, Taemin still had second thoughts about it all. “But,” he began, his clammy hands playing at the soft quilt. “What if your family finds out? It’s degrading— a shame, think about what your family and close friends would think of you! This isn’t a good idea, and I might even get into trouble..” He sighed and nodded, chewing slightly on his bottom lip. The other male’s voice was calm, and soothing, a totally different contrast than the loud, boasting and arrogant voices of other royals that Taemin had been around. “Okay,” he says, finally agreeing, slowly attempting to lean back again in the bed.
“Just know that if you get in trouble because of me, that I’ll take the blame, okay? You’re more prosperous than me, so, you’ll be spared than I’ll be.” The words that flew out of his mouth made Taemin chuckle softly as it was true. Was this member of the royal family sick? He didn’t understand at all on why he was being so caring to somebody who was born to be scraping gum against a royal’s shoe. Taemin oftentimes told himself to wake up from this dream like situation.. Maybe he fell asleep when his mother was making the treats. It was reality, funny enough.
He had totally forgotten about his hungry self as he kicked down the blankets to touch his own stomach. “Aish,” he began, his fingers rubbing against his shirt, feeling the empty spaces in between of his ribs. It was almost like he can fit his fingers between them. Then, he pinched at his abdomen, being totally flat from the lack of food he ate and observed his washed-out complexion from staring at his hands. “Indeed I do need some food,” Taemin concluded, pulling the blankets up again. “Let’s see.. Some tonkotsu ramen sounds spectacular right now, but, I don’t want to seem picky. Anything is fine! We can even head down to the banquet downstairs.”
